(1) A fee will be charged at the rate as per Schedule-9 for checking and fixing the measuring weights and weighing devices brought before the inspector for inspection.
(1a) In addition to the duty charged as per sub-rule (1) for stamping according to sub-rule (1a) of rule 11, up to one hundred rupees if within one year, from one hundred rupees to two hundred fifty rupees if within two years, from two hundred and fifty rupees to four hundred fifty rupees if within three years. Up to, within four years, a fine of Rs 450 to Rs 700 and within five years from Rs 700 to Rs 1000 will be charged. (2) If the user of the measuring weight or measuring weighing device applies to the inspector to have it checked or stamped at the place of use, fifty percent additional duty at the rate mentioned in Schedule-9 and the expenses incurred by the inspector, the executive standard and the measuring weighing device required to be checked and stamped You will have to bear the shipping costs incurred when bringing or taking away. However, additional duty will not be charged according to this sub-rule when passing the inspection of the following items:-
(a) vehicles carrying petroleum products, petrol pumps, weighing bridges, fixed platform weighing machines and other such devices as may be prescribed by the Controller,
(b) Weights and measuring instruments put up for sale by manufacturers and sellers.
(3) In spite of anything written in sub-rules (1) and (2), if the stitches are not removed in accordance with rule 15 or the stitches applied within the period mentioned in rule 11 are removed and stitched again within that period, on the measuring weight or measuring weighing device which has been checked and stitched, any Dustoor will not be taken.
(4) If any measuring weight or measuring weighing device is found to be insufficient when checked according to Rule 11, such measuring weight or measuring weighing device shall be returned to the concerned person for matching, and if he brings such measuring weight or measuring weighing device for re-checking within seven days after making necessary adjustments, "F will have to be done and if it looks right, it will have to be stitched.
(5) According to sub-rule (4), if the measuring weight or measuring weighing device is returned for matching, if it cannot be matched even within two times, such measuring weight or measuring weighing device cannot be put into use.
